TECA Enrollment Model: Why We Are Starting with 6th Grade Only

At Tampa Early College Academy (TECA), every decision is intentional—and our enrollment model is no exception.

When we open in Fall 2027, TECA will begin with only 6th-grade scholars. This phased approach is a strategic decision designed to build a strong academic foundation and a lasting school culture.

Why Start with 6th Grade?

Launching with a single grade level allows us to focus on quality over quantity. Instead of scaling quickly, we are building deeply.

This approach enables us to:

• Establish a strong college-going culture from the beginning

• Build long-term relationships with students and families

• Ensure consistent academic expectations across cohorts

• Provide highly personalized instruction and support

A Planned Growth Journey

TECA will grow one grade level at a time, ensuring that each new cohort benefits from a stable and well-established academic environment.

Our planned rollout includes:

• Fall 2027: Grade 6

• Fall 2028: Grades 6–7

• Fall 2029: Grades 6–8

• Fall 2030: Grades 6–9

• Fall 2031: Grades 6–10

• Fall 2032: Grades 6–11

• Fall 2033: Grades 6–12

This structured expansion ensures that every student receives the attention, resources, and academic consistency they deserve.
